Cars in German Town Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Officers reported they were contacted by a individual who discovered a car in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Approximately fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.

Officers state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.

The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then located many other marked automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement report early analysis indicate the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; officials are not yet aware of any harm in connection with the event," they commented.

City officials announced they were working "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the community for tips.

An important official commented the incident rendered him without words and needed to be addressed promptly.

"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the far-right attack in 2020," he posted on online, referring to the murder of nine victims by a gunman aiming at people of migrant background in 2020.
